What is Dream Weavers?
Our mission
Dream Weavers is a fully recognized 501 C (3) non-profit organization whose mission is to reach young people and their families with a message of hope that encourages and assists in empowering them to reach their God-given potential.
Founded in 2003 by Steve Gonzales who has spent over 27 years experience working with youth and their families in many different settings. Dream Weavers has participated in many events and programs to reach youth as well as youth considered “at-risk” with a message of hope. The desire to serve youth has taken us behind the walls of juvenile detention centers, the hallways of public schools from San Diego, CA to Buffalo, N.Y., in group homes, and many other institutions that serve youth in our communities.
Because we value and understand the importance of collaborative efforts we have partnered with many agencies and programs to help youth including the San Diego Sheriff’s Department LEAPS mentoring program, the Tariq Khamisa Foundation, AVID programs both in middle and senior high schools, Red Ribbon week presentations, and many other community based events and programs.
For over 10 years a network of concerned people have been coming together for such a time as this. Professional educators, business owners, lay church leaders, law enforcement personnel, working together for the purpose of serving young people. Dream Weavers was formally established in October of 2003 to create a comprehensive approach for the purpose of assisting young people in pursuing their goals and becoming all that God intended them to be.
